Avalanche Announces 2006 Training Camp Roster
(8/24/2006)
DENVER ? The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club will begin its 2006-2007 training camp on September 14th, when players report for medical and physical tests.
The club begins full-scale workouts on September 15th, running through the 17th. These on-ice sessions are scheduled to run each day from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the club?s practice facility located at the South Suburban Family Sports Center, 6901 South Peoria Street in Centennial, Colo. All scrimmages and practice sessions are open to the public at no charge on a first-come, first-served basis.
?We?re excited to begin another season of Avalanche hockey,? said Avalanche Executive Vice President & General Manager Francois Giguere. ?Our philosophy has always been that we will work to provide our fans with a competitive, exciting and dynamic product and training camp is a part of that process.?
?This is the time of year that coaches really look forward to,? said Avalanche Head Coach Joel Quenneville. ?I expect this year?s camp to be highly competitive and energetic right from the start on the 15th.?
Following the three-day camp, the Avalanche will hold its annual charity Burgundy/White Game on Monday, September 18, at Magness Arena on the University of Denver campus beginning at 6:30 p.m. All proceeds benefit youth charity programs of the Colorado Avalanche and D.U.
