Hello there,
My name is Shannon, I've lived in Danvers all my life. My Fiance (we'll call him Ken) and I started birdwatching a few years ago. Most of our birding is done at the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary. We always make birding stops on our otherwise Aviation related vacation.
Can't wait to get started on here! |

Welcome Shannon !
I am in Gloucester. I drive down 128 through Danvers every day. The hawks around the highway almost make driving to work fun.
Enjoy. _________________

I'm thinking about birding cape ann this weekend. Any sighting that I should be aware of. I saw that there was a Bald Eagle up there (the Glou. times article of the sighting is how I found this forum!)
I haven't been birding much lately, I'd love some direction! |

Hi shan from Danvers!
I am the black sheep here....from Iowa.
Ya'll have plenty other birds to chase....If ya do not get to see the Eagle.

Thanks for the welcome!
Jim, I see Red-tails on my commute, too. I am lucky enough to work in an industrial park that is bordered by an airport AND a conservation area. We often sit in a parking lot of Cherry Hill (industrial park) overlooking the Beverly airport and watch Red-tails and other hawks, Coyotes too. I think I actually saw a Peragrine get a robin there this fall. I'm not sure, but there may have been a Northern Harrier there too.
We were at Proctor Farm Conservation Area overlooking the airport when i saw my first Bluebird. And we watched a hummingbird gleaning bugs off the barbed wire of the airport.
I can't wait for the weather to warm up a little so i can start birding on my lunch hour! |

What a great place to get birds during a lunch break!
I work at GE in Lynn. On the day shift we don't see many good birds but when I worked nights we would sometimes get owls hunting over the large parking lots.
On my morning commute Tuesday, I saw the Red-tailed on the lamp post near the movie theater just off 128 and Danvers with a mate. Could be worth watching ! _________________
